Reception Staff:
Our Practice is committed to providing comprehensive General Practice Care to all individuals and families in the community, including:
We usually allow 15 minutes per appointment. Longer appointments are necessary for Complete Medical Examinations – ie: Medicals for employment or Truck Drivers Licence or “Full check ups”. A new patient, Mental Health issues, Multiple problems, Pap Smear, Baby’s first immunization at 2 months of age also require longer appointments – please let our receptionist know if you require extra time.
We charge below the AMA recommended fee. Pensioners and Health Care Card Holders are Bulk Billed; all other patients will have an out-of-pocket expense.
Payment in full on the day is expected for all attendances and a significant discount applies.
We accept cash, credit card, eftpos or cheques. Our staff can lodge your Medicare claim electronically, and your refund can be paid directly to your bank account.
* Our surgery is very mindful of particular cases where payment of fees may cause hardship; we hope you will feel comfortable in advising our staff if you are having difficulty with our accounts
Claims for private accounts can be electronically lodged with Medicare on your behalf. If your account has been paid in full, you may like Medicare to pay your refund by EFT directly into your bank account – you will need to bring your Bank BSB number and account number with you each time – these details are not stored in our computer.
In case of emergency, an ambulance should be contacted. During Office Hours if you are too ill or unable to arrange transport to visit the surgery, the doctors can conduct home visits within a reasonable distance from the surgery. After hours, patients will need to attend the Gumeracha Hospital.
Out Patient Department Attendances Our doctors are not employed by the Hospital, but are in private practice and fees for attendances apply. Pensioners are bulk billed; all others will have an out of pocket expense (depending of the nature of attendance between $20 - $35)
All consultations for immunisation are bulk billed. We advise parents be fully informed of the advantages, possible risk factors and any possible reactions to all immunisations. Your doctor is happy to discuss any concerns you may have.
It is necessary to make an appointment to discuss your itinerary and vaccination needs. In most cases this is best done at least 6 weeks prior to travel.
This practice is committed to preventative health care and we have a computerised reminder system. We may send you a reminder from time to time offering you services including cholesterol checks, Mammograms, Pap Smears, Immunisations etc.
Only urgent calls will be put through to doctor immediately. We are happy to take a message and ask doctor to return your call when not with a patient. Please be aware that it is not possible to make a diagnosis over the phone.
