Residents of the Eyre Peninsula and the Adelaide Hills should be on guard about travelling conmen posing as bitumen layers.
The men in Woodside are in a White Triton dual cab ute with a canopy.
"A tactic used in the past is claiming they have leftover bitumen form a previous job and offer to provide service at a discounted price.
"The work is often substandard, with bitumen laid too thin, and breaking up as soon as any vehicles are driven on it.
Heartfelt thanks to the Gumeracha CFS crew, their colleagues from other parts of South Australia and the crews from New South Wales and Victoria.
Also the water bomber pilots, the support groups and volunteers, who have pulled together in such difficult conditions.
We may never be able to repay the debt but we will always remember.
You are in our prayers.
